The story of Ustudents begins with the personal experience of its two founders, Dudi Zanti and Sahar Rotem. Both spent a significant chapter of their professional lives as students in the United States on sports scholarships. Dudi attended the University of Wisconsin on a sports scholarship, and Sahar studied business administration and international trade in Connecticut.
Their experience studying in the U.S. was life-changing, and to this day, they speak of it with a sparkle in their eyes. However, the path to realizing their dream was not easy and, above all, very lonely. From the admission processes, filling out forms, dealing with strict American bureaucracy, searching for scholarships, funding options, and verifying programs, to cultural shifts, adapting to daily life, and more— all of this took place with limited knowledge of the vast array of U.S. academic institutions, which consisted mostly of a few names they recognized from movies and TV shows.
If only there had been someone to guide and direct them, everything would have been much simpler…
When they returned to Israel, each separately, they discovered that the experience they had gone through was highly appealing to Israelis, but the process was quite intimidating. Gradually, they noticed, each in their own circle, that they had become “professors” on the topic of studying abroad, especially under sports scholarships…
With a desire to help and share, they began assisting friends and family who wanted to study in the United States. Slowly, the word spread to more distant friends and second circles, and with every student they helped, they gained more knowledge and experience.
After a few years of unofficial assistance, Dudi founded USTARS, a company specializing in helping students secure sports scholarships for studying in the United States. Shortly after, Sahar joined USTARS, and through their work, they noticed the growing demand for help not only with sports scholarships but with the entire process of studying abroad.
This led them to the decision to create Ustudents. The goal behind founding the company was to provide a more comprehensive service, establish a system that could guide students through more stages of the journey, build a mechanism tailored to each individual, and cover as many options in the U.S. as possible to offer a complete solution for as many students as possible.
To this day, Dudi and Sahar have helped hundreds of students achieve the “American dream” for Israeli students. With each new student, they see their own personal story and make every effort to ensure their path is easier and simpler. They know that at the end of this journey, an experience that will change their life awaits—an experience that will help another Israeli student break through in the future.
After three years of service in the Israeli Air Force, Dudi began his studies at a college in the USA, receiving a full sports scholarship at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. During his four years at the university, in addition to the amazing personal experience, Dudi achieved success both as an athlete and a student, graduating with honors in International Marketing and Economics.
Upon completing his studies, he was hired as a financial advisor at one of the prestigious companies in the US in this field – Northwestern Mutual, where he worked for two years.
In 2012, Dudi returned to Israel and founded Ustars Group, an agency specializing in placing soccer players and Israeli students at universities in the US and obtaining athletic and academic scholarships. The agency has worked with hundreds of satisfied clients.
Now, Dudi has decided to establish Ustudents with Sahr Rotem as a separate company, focusing on providing professional and personal assistance to regular students, assisting with placement at universities in the US.
A graduate of the University of New Haven, Connecticut, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in International Commerce.
During his 8 years in the USA, Sahar gained success and experiences in the academic, athletic, and personal realms. After completing his Master’s degree, he worked as the Sales Manager of a local company in the consumer goods market in the US. Upon returning to Israel, Sahar began working at the Israeli branch of a large American company, where he held senior management positions in both Israel and abroad for 17 years.
His studies in the USA helped Sahar develop professionally and personally, which led to the desire to establish Ustudents with Dudi Zanti and provide the same opportunities and experiences to as many Israeli students as possible.
